Remove fan from thermostat and turn on at furnace

I have a HVAC system where the thermostat has to turn the fan on. Is there a way to remove the G fan wire going to my thermostat and install a relay or something to kick the fan on when the thermostat calls for cooling on the Rc and Y wires?

Not sure I understand what your issue is because your thermostat should be calling for the fan to run on the G terminal every time the thermostat calls for cooling. You could remove the G wire connected to the thermostat and install a jumper wire between the Y and the G terminal at the furnace. This will insure that the fan is called to run any time there is a call for cooling.
