Exclamation C connection required on wifi version

These thermostats require 24VAC to operate. You must either have a current C connection in your thermostat or an extra wire in the loom of the stat wire to your thermostat. If you do not have either then you WILL need to run new wire or power the thermostat from a plug in transformer.

If it's difficult to pull a wire could one of these be used instead?

Another solution would be use the fan wire as a common and jumper Y & G on the furnace board. This would disable the auto/on switch for the blower, forcing it to be "auto" all the time. DO NOT try this unless you know what you are doing, not a project for the typical do it yourselfer !!!

Looks like a alternative if a new wire cannot be installed. Have you ever use one? What is the cost of the Venstar Acc0410?

We use a similar product provided by the manufacturer of the thermostat. Works well in most cases, but can be a pain to wire up on some systems. The Venstar is about $20 pexsupply.com/Venstar-ACC0410-Add-a-Wire?gclid=CN3_66Kr_LACFWQKRQodw03RJA
