I have a question regarding the Trane XL824 thermostat and z-wave. I have three of these thermostats which were already here when I bought the house. They are currently configured with one as a z-wave bridge and the other two as repeaters. This is the default when the thermostat is initialized and does not detect a pre-existing z-wave bridge. I plan to install a Ring Security system which apparently uses z-wave to communicate with the other security devices. My question is should I let the Ring base station be the bridge and reconfigure the Train thermostats to all be repeaters on the Ring network? Or, should I (or can I?) have two separate z-wave networks?
