HVAC Wiring
There are two wire cables.
One has 4-wires going to the thermostat
The other has 2-wires
Looking at the 4-wire cable the white wire has a thick white and black wire. When I replace the 4-wire cable and 2-wire cable do I leave the thick white and black wires connected to the white wire going to thermostat?
I am going to use a 6-wire cable to replace the two different wires: I assume the light-brown wire in the 6-wire cable connects to the brown wire currently connected to the white wire of the 2-wire cable.
Can someone please tell me where the 5 wires of the 6-wire cable should be connect at each end I would really appreciate the information. For example where does the Blue wire go?
I plan NOT to use the white wire of the 6-wire cable. Someone said I hook a wire to the brown wire in the HVAC unit, so I figured it would be better to use a brown wire. So I plan to use the following colors:
Green
Red
Light Brown
Yellow
Blue
I hope this makes sense.
