    I have seen that video but I am not sure if I would recommend that method. I am not even sure how that works but I would think that you would need to connect the two wires from the transformer to the RC and C terminals

    Here are some options
    • Install a new common wire
    • Purchase a Venstar add a wire devise
    • Use your G wire as your common wire as shown in this video

    i watched that g wire as a c wire video before. went down to the basement and was scared to put a jumper in. Click image for larger version.

    if i attach a jumper like shown, will i short out anything?

    Before I answer your question I need to find out if blue wire is connected between the G terminal and the C terminal. Is the blue wire connected to the G and C terminals?

    so, i just found this thermostat in the basement and have decided to either get it working or sell it.

    so, the blue wires on c and g go into the box that is mounted behind the whole setup.
