    Carrier to Honeywell Wifi

I currently have the Carrier Thermostat TSTATCCPHP01-B and wanted to switch it to a wifi one so went to Lowes and bought the Honeywell RTH9580WF.

I took a picture of the wires on the Carrier before removing the wires in hope to match them.

Dilema where the Carrier has S1 (orange wire) and S2 (black wire) connected. The Honeywell doesn't have this.

Here is a picture of the carrier wires.

How would I properly wire the Honeywell that doesn't have the S1 and S2?

The S1 and S2 terminals are for a outdoor sensor. If you have a typical heat pump you should be fine with not using the S1 and S2 wires. You can just tape off the ends of the S1 and S2 wires.

Hello Statman, you should refer to the manual of carrier thermostat as every model has different wiring and setup so go with the manual. Also, you can consult a technician and hints about your carrier thermostat.
